Movies I Watched in the Last Week

1) Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit - File this one under "better than I expected."  Somehow I had it in my mind that this was going to be a dumb, overly-serious drama with in-your-face coolness.  It's not.  It's a well-made spy thriller.  Very plain, very generic, not too memorable, but not bad.  Coulda used a bit of trimming - the first fifteen minutes are all basically redundant since it's just back story that could've been parceled out in dialogue later, but that's fine.  It's a good pizza night movie when you don't feel like working too hard at what you're watching.

My Rating: 3.5 / 5

2) Balls Out - A good, not great, comedy with a shitty title.  I'll write a full post about this later, but the only important thing you have to know is that the title and poster are wrong.  It is absolutely not the movie you think it is at first glance.

My Rating: 3.5 / 5

The Winner: Movies...

Sigh... another crazy week at my day job.  Starting to freak out that I'm not getting farther with my next book since I've got a baby on the way on top of everything else.
