Movies I Watched in the Last Week

1) Jason Bourne - I guess it's not bad, but nobody really asked for this, did they?

My Rating: 3 / 5

2) Raw - This is sure to gain a cult following.  Raw is one of those beautiful, weird movies that puts you in a trance with it's grisly imagery and strange ideas.  It's being described on a lot of movie sites as the tale of a vegetarian who discovers an unbearable compulsion to eat flesh after a hazing ritual.  That's technically accurate, but it doesn't capture the heart of the movie.  Raw is less about meat and more about discovery, about the exhilarating, but often uncomfortable and foolish choices you're free to make when you leave home.  Plus, gross horror scenes.

My Rating: 4 / 5

3) Gerald's Game - So, heads up if you're like me and had very little idea what the book was about.  This is centered around the long-term consequences of child molestation.  So, y'know, factor that into your night of spooooooky Stephen King adaptations.  Oh, also, despite being pretty good early on, the movie is virtually ruined by a god-awful monologue that makes up the last 5-10 minutes.  So, I don't know, maybe just skip this one altogether.

My Rating: 2 / 5 (Shitty Ending)
